Talentime (2009)

A talent search competition has matched two hearts – that of Melur, a Malay-mixed girl and an Indian male student, Mahesh. Melur, with her melodious voice, singing whilst playing the piano is one of the seven finalists of the Talentime competition of her school organised by Cikgu Adibah. Likewise Hafiz, enthralling with his vocalist talent while playing the guitar, divides his time between school and mother, who is hospitalised for brain tumor.

The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008)

A guksu western. Three Korean gunslingers are in Manchuria circa World War II: Do-wan, an upright bounty hunter, Chang-yi, a thin-skinned and ruthless killer, and Tae-goo, a train robber with nine lives. Tae-goo finds a map he’s convinced leads to buried treasure; Chang-yi wants it as well for less clear reasons. Do-wan tracks the map knowing it will bring him to Chang-yi, Tae-goo, and reward money. Occupying Japanese forces and their Manchurian collaborators also want the map, as does the Ghost Market Gang who hangs out at a thieves’ bazaar. These enemies cross paths frequently and dead bodies pile up. Will anyone find the map’s destination and survive to tell the tale?

Wayang (2008)

Master puppeteer Awang Lah becomes an uneasy teacher to Melor and the blind orphan Awi. All grown up, Awi’s innovative ways of telling the tales of Ramayana are well received by his audience but not by Awang who believes that the traditional wayang kulit performance is sacred. Love begins to bloom between the Awi and Melor but Jusoh, who has an eye for Melor, attempt to break them apart. Circumstances cause Awang to collapse during a wayang kulit performance. Will Awi and Melor be able to carry on the traditions of wayang kulit and find happiness at the same time?

Anizah is about to leave for UK to study nanotechnology but is kidnapped by her psychotic ex-boyfriend Fazley. As they travel north they encounter so many challenges and funny incidences to the point that they want to give up, turn back to KL and forsake their friend.
